Real estate construction
as we now know it began in ernest in the early 1970's and now consiste
of approximately 80,000 homes and condos. Rancho Mission Viejo,
however,has graced South Orange County for many of its early Spanish
land grant years. Later the City of Mission Viejo was created and now stands proudly as an example of what planning can offer, with Lake Mission Viejo is its crowning jewel.
